I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, and I’ll keep saying it until I walk out the cinema on the day of release: This is a film that just didn’t need to get made. FULL STOP.

As if Tim Burton hadn’t already done his best to confuse and tarnish the franchise, 20th Century Fox have decided to make a Planet of the Apes prequel, the beginning of a complete series reboot that will no doubt last a decade.

Now we’re all up to speed, we have to ask WHY? Not only does a prequel ruin the ending of the original masterpiece for all the generations who have yet to see it, but it also creates an unnecessary back story in an attempt answer an abstract philosophical question, posed to make us think, not make us waste precious world resources on CGI and James Franco.

I’m starting to realise that you can pretty much gauge how good a movie’s going to be by whatever the top two youtube comments are at any one time. These say it all:

draco malfoy what are you doing here?

its i am legend with monkies

Mispelling of monkeys ftw.

Rise of the Planer of the Apes swings into cinemas this August.

Frederick.
